I had an interesting business discussion this weekend with a couple friends of mine that hits on the chemistry subject from last week. He works at one of the major Studios in town and she at a major video game company. Both manage teams of people, build teams and must get the team to deliver results and objectives outlined by the company. We spoke of how we all cope with our office environment and discussed chemistry and personalities. Mainly, how important these elements are to the team as whole by also each of the individuals.
As one of them said, all it takes is one to ruin the whole. Especially the leader of the team - as the leader must devote time and energies ensuring the blending continues on the path outlined instead of proactively teaching, leading the team to success. They both couldn't stress enough how important chemistry and likability are to them when interviewing new team members.
I mean who wants to go to work with a toxic apple? Yes, some apples are extremely talented, but their toxic taste ruins their intelligence.
It's a small word. A very small world.
Which brings us to last weekend and a good win by The Arsenal. It may not have been pretty, but the team stuck together. We're now in the business end of the season, so taking full-points at home is a must. Good team chemistry is a must.
