The FA Cup 2014 - View from Indonesia

Ahead of the FA Cup final against Hull City on Saturday, we're getting an insight into how Arsenal fans around the world are gearing up for the game. First up, blogger Budi Bucin Santoso gives us the lowdown on preparations in Indonesia...

"Do you remember your childhood birthdays? The days you woke up excitedly knowing they were going be so very special for you? Knowing that everyone has already prepared a gift that will be given to you, along with the well-decorated and great-tasting birthday cake with your name clearly written on the top. A moment you will always remember. No matter that it has been repeated every year, you always wake up with tha glorious feeling on that exact day.

"It's the same feeling that most of us Gooners felt around the world. It has been nine years since we last won a trophy. Yes, we came so close in the 2011 Carling Cup final  but the defeat we suffered that day won't lessen the joy we feel currently.

"It is estimated that more than 1,500 participants will be there. It will be the biggest regional match screening event that has ever happened in the history of AIS"

"Some of us here in Indonesia are experiencing anxiety. But given the stats and looking at our last performances, we can be assured that the lads are on the right track at the moment. We have everything needed to be FA Cup champions 2014. Everyone is buzzing about it and most Gooners are so optimistic that it makes it look like we've won already!

"AIS (Arsenal Indonesia Supporters) know exactly how it feels and a big event like this needs special treatment, too. A massive match screening is prepared; an occasion where Gooners from five regions (Jakarta, Bekasi, Tangerang, Depok, Bogor) will gather in one place. It is estimated that more than 1,500 participants will be joining. It will be the biggest regional match screening event that has ever happened in the history of AIS.

"Social media has brought the game into discussions. Some Gooners have already made their own vows if Arsenal win - donating to the needy, treating friends to free meals, riding around the city, flares, fireworks and more. Me? I'm going to wear all my Arsenal attire from the top down. Cap, jersey, pants, scarf, jacket. I will definitely look so Arsenal.

"Come on you Gunners! Bring that silverware back to where it belongs. We're by far the greatest team this world has ever seen. Now it's time for us to rise. Our waiting is over.

"Victoria Concordia Crescit!"
