Dear Local Resident / Local Business,
I would like to inform you of the coach parking arrangements for the forthcoming Arsenal v Cardiff City FA Cup Fourth Round Replay rearranged match on Monday 16th February 2009, Kick Off 7.45pm.
It is anticipated that there will be a significantly increased number of coaches travelling from Cardiff to Emirates Stadium on Monday 16th February 2009.
However, in order to facilitate the extra number of coaches, we have agreed with Islington Council, Haringey Council and the Metropolitan Police that Finsbury Park will be used to accommodate all official Cardiff City Football Club coaches and minibuses. In addition, the designated Queensland Road coach parking site will be used to park the small number of expected Arsenal supporters’ coaches.
A designated pedestrian route between Finsbury Park and Emirates Stadium has been agreed with the Metropolitan Police and will be communicated to all Cardiff City supporters travelling on official coaches and minibuses. This route, illustrated on the provided map, is as follows:
Finsbury Gate (Seven Sisters Road), Blackstock Road, Ambler Road, Avenell Road, Aubert Park, Highbury Hill, Martineau Road, Emirates Stadium via the South Bridge.
Coaches for this match will arrive at Finsbury Park between 1pm and 5.45pm and will depart approximately one hour after the end of the match. The match will end at approximately 9:30pm if it does not extend into extra time and penalties
It is worth noting that there will be approximately 4,000 – 5,000 Cardiff City supporters walking this route before and after the match. The busiest time for supporters using the route will be after the match. However, Metropolitan Police Officers and Arsenal Stewards will be located at key points along the route to assist Cardiff City supporters between the stadium and Finsbury Park and to reduce the impact on residents.
Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated and once again we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
