Pre-Match Report

Ladies: Yeovil Town v Arsenal - Preview

THE STORY SO FAR

We continue our search for a first Spring Series win when we visit the Viridor Stadium to take on Yeovil Town on Sunday afternoon.

After seeing our opening-day clash against Notts County cancelled, Pedro Martinez Losa’s side have drawn with both Sunderland and Liverpool.

The team were just eight minutes from victory on Thursday night against the latter when Jordan Nobbs completed a dramatic turnaround by making it 4-3 - and we’ll be hoping to go one better this weekend by holding on for the win.

THE OPPOSITION

Yeovil are competing against Women’s Super League’s top-flight sides for the first time after achieving promotion from WSL 2 last season.

So far they have zero points after three matches, having lost to Liverpool, Chelsea and Bristol City.

In that time the Glovers have shipped 13 goals, scoring just three times.

ONE TO WATCH

Danielle Carter showed exactly what she is capable of in Thursday night’s eight-goal thriller, scoring twice to inspire a dramatic fightback.

Equally potent on the wings or in a central position, Carter will be looking to add to her Spring Series tally at Viridor Stadium.

Speaking after Thursday’s draw, Losa said: “Danielle recognised one of the weaknesses of the opponent and she did phenomenally well. I think she was unlucky not to score one more. We performed better, we were more comfortable, but in the last seconds we just conceded that goal."
