Arsenal Under-18s were defeated 4-0 by north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on a frustrating afternoon on Saturday.

The Gunners had several chances in the first half but couldn’t turn possession into goals.

Samuel Shashoua put the hosts in front when he pounced in the box, before Marcus Edwards curled a free-kick past Ryan Huddart.

Edwards got his second when he hammered the ball into the bottom corner, while substitute Ryan Loft capped off the scoring with a composed finish.

Arsenal made a good start to the game with Kaylen Hinds, on his return after injury, causing havoc and forcing Alfie Whiteman into a number of good saves.

Shashoua opened the scoring after the restart when he capitalised on a loose ball in the box after Huddart had saved an earlier attempt.

Edwards whipped a free-kick into the top corner and soon had a second when he fired into the bottom corner after beating his marker.

Substitute Loft rounded off the scoring when he broke in behind Arsenal’s defence and made no mistake in front of goal.
