Josh Rees' first goal of the campaign proved decisive as Arsenal Under-18s kicked off 2012 with victory in Norwich on Saturday.

Rees found the net with 15 minutes remaining to hand Steve Bould's side their first win in four matches and keep top spot safe in the Premier Academy League.

Nigel Neita started his first match in a month up front, while Reserve hopefuls Rees, Kyle Ebecilio, Jon Toral and Elton Monteiro were all included. Philip Roberts was named on the bench against his former side.

In the end it was Rees' strike which earned the young Gunners all three points in Norfolk, putting paid to a tough run of results at the tail end of last year.

Next up for Bould's side is a home match against Portsmouth at London Colney on January 21.
