Scotland's Kim Little hit an extra-time hat-trick to give Arsenal a 4-1 win against Sunderland in their weather-delayed FA Cup fourth round tie.

In a repeat of last season's final, the Black Cats equalised in the last minute of normal time but eventually lost.

Little was Arsenal's extra-time trump card, but it was Sunderland goalkeeper Rachael Laws who took the player of the match plaudits for an outstanding display.

The 19-year-old stopper pulled off a succession of brilliant saves as the Gunners, still smarting from November's 2-1 league defeat by Sunderland, attacked incessantly.

Laws kept them at bay until midfielder Katie Chapman headed Arsenal in front after striker Helen Lander's 66th-minute shot had rebounded off the bar.

A Gunners victory looked assured but, in the fourth minute of stoppage time, the visitors were handed a lifeline as defender Ciara Grant scored an own goal.

Then came the Kim Little show, however, as the midfielder scrambled home her first goal in the 98th minute and then fired her second into the roof of the net a minute later.

Six minutes from the end of extra-time Little swapped passes with Chapman to complete her hat-trick with a 15-yard shot that brought her season's goal tally to 30.
