The visitors had already struck the bar twice inside the opening 20 minutes before Niamh Fahey connected with a Smith corner to head Arsenal in front on the half-hour.
Eight minutes later Smith turned from provider to scorer, wriggling through the Blackburn backline to fire home Arsenal’s second.
Blackburn enjoyed their own period of dominance after the interval but it didn’t stop Karen Carney from extending her side’s lead after 56 minutes. Smith applied the icing on the cake after 68 minutes grabbing her second, and Arsenal’s fourth, of the match.Copyright 2013 The Arsenal Football Club plc.
