Arsenal stretched their lead to eight points at the top of the
Women's Premier League with a comfortable 4-0 win against
Cardiff City Ladies.

England winger Karen Carney gave Arsenal the lead after 14
minutes but Cardiff kept the champions at bay until early in the
second half.

Kelly Smith doubled Arsenal's advantage five minutes after
the restart and Katie Chapman added a third within a minute to put
the game beyond Cardiff's reach.

Chapman then scored her second, and Arsenal's fourth,
with 18 minutes remaining to maintain Arsenal's 100 per cent
record in the league this season.

The game took place at Hoddesdon Town FC due to unplayable
conditions at Boreham Wood.

Arsenal's next fixture is against Doncaster Rovers at
Keepmoat Stadium on Wednesday night. A win from their final game in
hand would put the champions 11 points clear of Leeds United.
Arsenal then take on Leeds for the first time this season in next
Sunday's League Cup Final.
