Arsenal moved closer to securing their fifth Nationwide Women's
Premier League title in six seasons with a resounding 5-0
win over Everton on Sunday.

The result means Vic Akers' side can retain their trophy if
they beat second-placed Charlton on Thursday.

Jayne Ludlow came closest to ending the first-half stalemate
when her shot hit the crossbar but the score remained goalless
until the break.

Four minutes into the second half, a goal by Arsenal striker
Lianne Sanderson was swiftly followed by a second yellow card for
Everton's Fara Williams.

With the numerical advantage, the Gunners then took charge and
just nine minutes later, they struck again - and again.

First Ludlow bagged her first of the afternoon, then Kelly Smith
got in on the act with her 16th league goal of the season. Ludlow
grabbed her second - and Arsenal's fourth - after 67 minutes
before Sanderson made it five late on.
