Fran Merida continued his impressive start to the season with his third goal in two Academy League games as Arsenal beat Birmingham Under-18s at Wast Hills Training Ground.

The young Spaniard came off the bench to score the decisive goal and secure a second win in three matches for Steve Bould's young side. Abu Ogogo and Rhys Murphy had earlier given Arsenal a half-time lead.
