Arsenal Under-18s

Frimpong 75

Charlton Athletic Under-18s

England schoolboy Emmanuel Frimpong kept Arsenal Academy's hopes of a play-off berth alive with the winner against Charlton.

In an opening period littered with chances the travelling Addicks were thankful to head in level at the break.

Arsenal continued to press after the break but, with Charlton always improving, the match was finely poised.

A touch of class was needed to settle matters and it duly arrived 15 minutes from the end. Jack Wilshere danced past a couple of opponents and showed presence of mind to pick out the onrushing Frimpong. The 16-year-old made no mistake as he sent a rasping drive beyond the goalkeeper to sew up all three points.
