Jayne Ludlow

Arsenal Ladies captain Jayne is now in her 13th season as a Gunner.

Her strength, box-to-box style and eye for goal mark her out as one of the game’s top midfielders, and she is Arsenal Ladies’ all-time top goalscorer with more than 200 goals in all competitions to her name.

She was the captain of the Welsh national side before announcing her retirement from International football.

Which player most inspired you and why?
My parents, family and friends are the people who inspired me.

Which coach most inspired you?
My Dad.

What was the best advice they gave you?
Work hard and don't expect others to do things you wouldn't be prepared to do yourself. And win!

Best player you've played with?
All my Arsenal Ladies team-mates throughout my career - they all had great individual talents that combined to make us a great team.

Toughest opponent?
Any of the German national team.

What are your memories of your first club as a child?
Barry Town Ladies was the best team to play for as a youngster because of their competitiveness as a group and all the great personalities - the players there inspired me to achieve more and all of them just loved to play the game.

What tip would you give a young player hoping to succeed?
Work hard but always enjoy playing. Football is about expressing yourself so be happy and enjoy.
