The Song chest control and volleyed pass

Together with Arsenal Soccer Schools we will be bringing you a range of skills throughout the season which you can learn, practice and perfect to give you the edge over your opponents whenever you play as well as impressing your friends.

The latest skill to learn is...The Song chest control and volleyed pass

STEP 1
When the ball is in the air coming towards you, keep your eye on the ball and plant both feet into the ground to support your body weight.

STEP 2
Raise your arms out to the side to assist your balance and make your chest area is as wide as it can be.

STEP 3
Arch your back so that your chest faces upwards and cushion the ball with your chest so that the pace is taken off and the ball moves slightly upwards after contact.

STEP 4
As the ball is rising, take a step backwards and plant your non-kicking foot into the ground, raising your kicking foot towards the ball as it starts to move towards the ground. Take a quick look at where you want the ball to go to.

STEP 5
Keep your eyes on the ball and swing your kicking foot through in the direction of where the ball is dropping.

STEP 6
Turn your foot so that the inside makes contact with the ball while it is still in the air. Follow through with your foot moving in the same direction as where you passed the ball.
