Well, what a busy few weeks it's been!
I had a great day on Thursday, September 13 when I went to the training ground for our 1st team squad picture. Competition winners and Charity champions from the club were all able to have their pictures taken with the first team!
The following Saturday we had a terrific result, beating Southampton 6-1 at Emirates Stadium. I was very busy, spending most of the day with a film crew, as I gave away complimentary tickets and Gunnersaurus toys. Then I met the teams as they arrived and went up to box level to meet some Junior Gunners after the game.
On Friday September 21, our young supporters aged up to three years old were given the chance to come to the Emirates with their parents for a special party. Over 150 boys and girls joined in the fun with bouncy castles, face painting, colouring and cutting out, as well as a childrens entertainer who sang and danced with all of our Junior members. The Arsenal Soccer School was also there, and we has a very special visit from three of our current first team squad, Per Mertersacker, Lukas Podolski and Andre Santos. They also brought along their children and stopped for lots of pictures. The fun lasted for 3 hours before everyone including me left exhausted. It was so nice to meet all of the future fans of this great football club.
The match against Manchester City on the following Sunday was an exciting one and I thought the boys played very well. They never gave up and managed to score late on to seal a 1-1 draw.
The first Capital One Cup match of the season took place at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday 26th September. It was a joy to see so many young fans visiting the stadium and I got to meet all our competition winners. I greeted the team, and this time I also had loads of competition winners with me. I posed for many pictures and had loads of fun. I even got to go up to a few Executive Boxes before I did my pre-match routine! The evening ended with six goals to the Gunners and we are ready to take on Reading in the next round.
Bye for now,
