Hello Junior Gunners!
How are you all doing? I bet you're all looking forward to the festive season.
I've been really busy in the run-up to Christmas!
I had a really exciting day on Tuesday, November 15 because one of my all time favourite Arsenal players came to the Emirates to launch a new DVD. Can you guess who it was? Yes it was Robert Pires! I kept the huge crowd that had gathered in the Armoury superstore busy while they were waiting for Robert to arrive. When he did we had a big cuddle.
Just two days later, the north London derby took place at Emirates Stadium. The game started at 12.45, so I was up and about early. First I went to the Armoury, then I met the teams as they arrived at the stadium. It was really nice to see former Gunners William Gallas and Emmanuel Adebayor again. Thierry Henry and Sol Campbell also came to watch the game. I really enjoyed the game and we showed great spirit to come back from a goal down to win 5-2 - the same score as last season! After the game I went up to box level to meet the fans, and even saw comedian Matt Lucas!
In the end, it was a really busy weekend for me. The day after the Tottenham game, I attended the first birthday party of Andre Santos’ son.
Lots of people turned up, including some of the first-team squad. I was particularly happy to see Per Mertesacker, who had scored against Tottenham.
Next up was a Champions League game against Montpellier at the Emirates. We won 2-0 and qualified for the last 16 of the tournament in the process. It was a good result and I was pleased to meet Colin Firth, who starred in the film Fever Pitch - which is all about Arsenal!
We then had two difficult away games against Aston Villa and Everton and managed to get two hard-fought draws.
On Wednesday, December 5, I had a photo shoot to promote tours at the stadium, and the next day I was really busy - attending an Arsenal in the Community training session in Camden before rushing back to the Armoury for the signing session with Gervinho and Santi Cazorla.
Then, on Friday, December 7, I went along to meet some of our disabled supporters at their Christmas social evening. Aaron Ramsey made an appearance and answered some of the fans’ questions.
We had our last home game before Christmas on Saturday. I was privileged to meet a group of Russian orphans before the match started. They were guests of Arsenal shareholder Mr Usmanov. It was a reall special match because the Club had dedicated it to the Arsenal Foundation. I went around the pitch with lots of helpers collecting money for the charity. The team managed to cap the day off well, winning 2-0 thanks to two Mikel Arteta penalties.
That’s all for now.
Have a great Christmas!
