Arsenal Career 1998 - 2001
Position: Defender
Appearances 69 (29 starts, 40 as a sub)

Nelson Vivas arrived at Arsenal as an experienced Argentinian international defender. Yet he wasn't able to force himself into Arsène Wenger's back four.
His versatility made him a useful substitute though - 40 of his 69 Arsenal appearances were from the bench. He could slot into the midfield or anywhere across the back line.
A small but clever defender, Vivas was not short of talent. But although a neat passer with technical ability in abundance, his tackling would at times let him down.
After 18 months of trying to forge a regular role in Wenger's side, Vivas moved on loan to Celta Vigo before joining Inter Milan on a free transfer in 2001.
