Brian Sparrow joined Arsenal as a schoolboy in May 1977 and turned professional eight months later.
The east London-born forward made his two appearances for the first team in the 1983/84 season - his final one at the Club - in consecutive matches against Coventry and Stoke as Arsenal secured a sixth-placed finish in Division One.

He enjoyed loan spells with Wimbledon, Millwall and Gillingham during his seven-year spell at Highbury and featured heavily for the reserves.
Sparrow struggled to force his way into regular first-team contention and eventually left for Crystal Palace on a free transfer in July 1984.
He played for Enfield in 1987 before moving into management with Crawley Town and Wimbledon reserves.
