Joe Satterthwaite was not quite the success his brother Charlie was at Arsenal.
The inside forward joined the Club in December 1906 from Workington but had to wait almost 15 months for his first-team debut.

It did arrive against Manchester United, however, the first of only five appearances for Woolwich Arsenal. Joe did play alongside his brother on three of those occasions, creating history as the first of only three pairs of brothers to play for the Club.
Satterthwaite was transferred to Grimsby Town in November 1908.
