Matthew Rose was captain of Arsenal’s FA Youth Cup-winning side of 1994.
But the Dartford-born defender could not force his way into the first team on a regular basis and played just five times after making his first-team debut against QPR in March 1996.

Rose started in the 3-1 win over Manchester City three days later but only made one more start, against West Ham the following season.
He transferred to QPR for £500,000 in May 1997 and spent 10 years at Loftus Road before retiring at Yeovil.
