Creative midfielder Alberto Mendez signed for Arsenal from SC Feucht in 1997, scoring on his debut after coming on as a substitute in a 4-1 League Cup win against Birmingham City on October 14 that year.
The German spent five years at the Club - during which time he made 11 appearances in all competitions, including four in the league.

Following a short spell at Terrassa, Mendez returned to Germany to play for a host of teams including SC Feucht, SpVgg Bayreuth, SV Darmstedt, SV Sandhausen and SpVgg Weiden, where he retired in 2010.
He took charge of Bavarian side FC Amberg in 2011 but was sacked two years later.
