Spencer Bassett played once for Arsenal in the early 20th century.
Joining from Maidstone in 1906, the right half signed professional terms in May 1907 and made his first appearance in a junior friendly against a Local District XI in August 1906.

The Blackheath-born player became a regular in the South Eastern League where he won the title in 1907/08 but he managed only one first-class appearance against Notts County in September 1909.
Bassett later played for Exeter City between 1910 and 1913 and Swansea Town. He died in France after being badly wounded during the First World War.
