Centre forward Cyril Grant briefly played for Arsenal during the 1946/47 campaign.
He impressed with Mexborough prior to joining Lincoln City in June 1939 and moved to Highbury in July 1946.

Given his First Division debut in Arsenal's 2-0 defeat at Preston four months later, he also featured in the 2-0 reverse at Middlesbrough shortly before joining Fulham with Dave Nelson in exchange for Ronnie Rooke in December 1946.
He moved to Southend United in March 1948 and was twice top goalscorer, reuniting with Lionel Smith at Gravesend & Northfleet in July 1955. He resided in Lewisham until his death in October 2002. (With thanks to Leigh Edwards)
