Walcott is O2/Arsenal.com Player of the Month

Theo Walcott has pipped Robin van Persie and Emmanuel Adebayor to the 02/Arsenal.com Player of the Month award for October.

The England winger scooped our September prize after arguably the finest month of his career for club and country and he maintained his excellent form last month.

Theo looked slightly jaded at Sunderland but came off the bench to spark a comeback against Everton at the Emirates, firing in Abou Diaby's pass to secure all three points. He was outstanding in Istanbul and scored the second goal after a well-timed run and a cool finish. Theo nearly added to his tally at West Ham but was denied by the crossbar after a storming run down the right. He also gave Tottenham plenty of problems but Theo's month ended on a low note after he suffered a shoulder injury at Stoke.

Theo polled over just 0.2 per cent more of the votes than Van Persie in our October poll with Adebayor just 2.2 per cent behind the England winger in third place.

Ryan Burke from Derry in Northern Ireland has won the chance to present Theo with his award before the  game against Aston Villa at Emirates Stadium on Saturday, November 15. Ryan will also win two tickets to that match.

"He has been sensational so far," said Ryan. "He is the future of the club and always gives 100 per cent."
