The nature of the modern game means I have been fortunate enough to have visited many countries over the last 20-odd years, all in the name of our great club. Poland however, is totally new for me.
Despite it only being the latest chapter in our pre-season preparations, the 'unknown' aspect at least, means I am thoroughly looking forward to it.
In recent years the pre-season route has become somewhat familiar, our final match including weekend trips to the likes of Alkmaar and Valencia. The fact this is yet again different to the normal Champions League 'midweek' action suggests the next couple of days could be hugely entertaining.
Ten of us are taking in the weekend, all very much aware this is our last chance to totally relax in the name of football before the real stuff starts next week.
I'm off to get my Zloty, the few remaining Euros from Austria not being useful in the slightest over the next couple of days!
