When it comes to thinking our chance of victory might have gone we should know better I guess. Late goals, especially in recent matches, are nothing new. It does feel all the sweeter however, when it is thoroughly deserved.

Last week's disappointment also meant it felt all the more crucial of course.

The chance to bounce back came against a side still challenging for this season's league title. A tough game but one to relish, especially when our previous two encounters this season saw us go away with less than our performances deserved.

On a cool and damp Spring day the atmosphere in and around the stadium was superb yet again and there is no doubt this was a contributory factor when claiming the three points.

The first half was a little cagey at times but RVP's goalbound effort being inadvertently cleared off the line by Tommy V gave an indication of who was dominating the game.

City enjoyed their best spell of the game early in the second period without really threatening but the pressure we put on from that point on was simply relentless. Wave after wave of attack supported by massively noisy support once again.

When RVP and Theo smacked the post - the latter leading to a quite incredible sequence that has me still scratching my head - it looked like our total domination of the game was going to see scant reward.

In a weekend full of quite incredible offside decisions too, our disallowed goal had to be the one the linesman got correct!

With time running out however, Mikel looked as sharp in winning the ball as if it was still the first minute, powered forward and smashed home a superb long range effort. Get in!

The stadium went crazy with delight including of course the nothing but amusing sight of all sides and tiers doing a 'Poznan'. Football humour at its best methinks.

Another massive three points and results elsewhere mean a win up at Wolves on Wednesday would put us in an extremely healthy position with five games to go.

This league is incredible in its unpredictability however, we all know that too well. Consequently we will have to be right up for it just like on Sunday.

Us travelling Gooners will do our utmost to contribute once again.
