Dear Local Residents,

Please be aware that a pre-planned training exercise involving Arsenal Football Club stewarding personnel and stadium management will take place in and around Emirates Stadium on Sunday 17th April 2016.

Between approximately 9am and 11.30am on Sunday, you may see the presence of Arsenal stewards outside Emirates Stadium and in the surrounding areas. This exercise is simply designed as a safety training exercise for our Matchday staff .

The exercise will involve Arsenal stewards and security staff congregating in a number of areas outside Emirates Stadium. No other actions or activities are expected to take place, with traffic and pedestrians not being disrupted during this time.

Please be advised that this is standard activity for venues and organisations which host large numbers of people and is not in response to any identified concerns.

Thank you for your assistance and understanding.  If you have any queries please contact 020 7619 5003.

Yours sincerely,

John Beattie

Arsenal Football Club and Transport for London would like to remind passengers using Holloway Road and Highbury & Islington stations of the following:

Holloway Road:
London Underground and the Metropolitan Police have reviewed the opening times of Holloway Road Tube station on major event days at the stadium. There will be no entry to Holloway Road Tube station for up to TWO hours after events.

Highbury & Islington:
Until mid-October, while escalator refurbishment work takes place there will be no down escalator service. Access to the Victoria and National Rail platforms is via stairs only and delays of up to 90 minutes to enter the station after events at Emirates Stadium are expected.

To avoid these delays, you should make your return journey via Arsenal or Finsbury Park stations instead, where the usual queue management systems will be in place. Alternatively, use Archway or Angel stations by following the signed walking routes. If you use Highbury & Islington to access the London Overground service please note that queuing will be on the south side of Holloway Road. You must follow the route down Holloway Road as no access to the station or the queuing system will be available from Highbury Fields.
