Roy heads up operations at the Hale End Academy, which develops youngsters aged from Under-9 to Under-16 levels. He has around 120 promising youngsters under his remit, and is also involved with recruiting new talent.
He is another member of staff to be steeped in the Club’s history, having started here as a trainee before playing for Rotherham United, Leyton Orient and Colchester United.

A knee injury curtailed his playing career at the age of 28, signalling a move into coaching. He spent 15 years in charge of Colchester’s youth set-up, and another six with Norwich City. He returned to Arsenal in 1998. Roy is also a qualified PE teacher.
