Andries took charge of Arsenal’s academy in July 2014 after joining from German club Vfl Wolfsburg, where he was assistant manager for two years.
A vastly-experienced and highly-respected coach, Andries previously spent seven years working for the Dutch FA and two seasons working as a senior coach in the youth set-up of the Dutch Federation.

Andries was involved with all the national youth teams from under-15 to under-23 level, and scouted for the Dutch national team, including at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Andries also served as assistant manager to Louis van Gaal at Barcelona and Bayern Munich, and spent a short spell in temporary charge of the German side. Besides this, he was head coach and technical director within clubs in the first and second divisions in Holland.
Known for his ability to develop strong youth systems in his native Holland, Andries came to Arsenal with vast experience of European football and works closely with Carl Laraman and Steve Gatting.
