Arsenal's Cup-winning Youth team proved they haven't been idle over the summer with an emphatic 6-0 victory over Spurs' reserve team.

Two-goals apiece from Joe Osei-Kuffour, Graham Barrett and Jermaine Brown saw off a Spurs team which featured Matthew Etherington, Alton Thelwell and John Piercy.

Spurs were fielding an experimental side, trying new formations and players in different positions, and the Young Guns took full advantage with a blitz of goals.

The Gunners, including impressive midfield pairing Steven Sidwell and Rohan Ricketts as well as defender Moritz Volz (scorer of the second goal at Rushden & Diamonds, playing on the right of midfield), ran the game almost throughout.

Spurs rallied towards the end and began to threaten, but gave away a penalty in the dying minutes and were unable to find a consolation.

Osei-Kuffour scored once and Graham Barrett twice in the first half, before Jermaine Brown came on as a substitute in the second and scored two.

Osei-Kuffour then capped the game, stroking home the penalty late in the second half to seal the victory.
