The high-profile departures of Patrick Vieira, Edu, Jermaine Pennant and Stuart Taylor were well documented over the summer, as was the signing of former Stuttgart midfielder Alexander Hleb.
A number of other players went through the revolving doors at Highbury before the transfer window closed at midnight on August 31. Two joined on loan, four agreed temporary moves away from Arsenal and others were released.

LOAN RANGERS... IN
ALEXANDRE SONG
The versatile young Cameroonian spent a trial period with the
Gunners during their pre-season training camp in
Austria, before signing on loan from Bastia.
MART POOM
Mart, the six-times Estonian Player of the Year, is on loan from
Sunderland until January 1. He will challenge for a first-team
berth with Jens Lehmann and Manuel Almunia.
LOAN RANGERS... OUT
DAVID BENTLEY
Among the last to leave on secondment was David, who spent last
season on loan at Norwich City and will now spend the remainder of
this campaign at Ewood Park with Mark Hughes' Blackburn
Rovers.
JEREMIE ALIADIERE
Jeremie has joined West Ham on loan until the end of the season.
The young French forward initially signed a season-long loan deal
with Celtic but returned to London due to a lack of first-team
opportunities.
JUSTIN HOYTE
Twenty-year-old Justin Hoyte has joined Sunderland on loan until
the end of the season. The speedy England Under-21 defender made
eight first-team starts last term and 12 appearances in total.
GRAHAM STACK
Graham has joined Reading on loan with a view to a permanent move
in January. The Hampstead-born goalkeeper spent last term on loan
at Millwall, making 26 appearances and keeping nine clean
sheets.
SEBASTIAN SVARD
After five years with Arsenal, Sebastian has joined Portuguese
club Vitoria Guimaraes. The Danish midfielder spent last
season on loan at Brondby under the management of Michael
Laudrup.
JORDAN FOWLER
Jordan was released by Arsenal at the end of June. The midfielder
is currently looking for a new club.
FRANKIE SIMEK
Frankie was released at the end of June. The 20-year-old
defender had loan spells at QPR and Bournemouth during his
time at Highbury. He has since joined Sheffield Wednesday
on a permanent deal.
OLAFUR-INGI SKULASON
Ollie was handed a free transfer by Arsenal at the end of last
season. The Icelandic midfielder will continue his career
in London after joining Brentford on a two-year deal..
ADAM BIRCHALL
Adam has joined Mansfield Town following his release from Highbury.
The Wales Under-21 striker spent part of last season on loan at
Wycombe Wanderers.
DANNY KARBASSIYOON
Danny was also released at the end of last season. The American
left-back spent time on loan at Ipswich Town last term and has
secured a permanent deal with Championship side Burnley.
CHRIS WRIGHT
Goalkeeper Chris made a handful of appearances for Arsenal Reserves
last season. He completed a move to Boston United in May and will
be competing with Nathan Abbey for the No 1 jersey.
STEPHEN O'DONNELL
Nineteen-year-old Stephen has moved north of the border to join
Falkirk on a free transfer. He is yet to make an appearance for his
new employers, but they are hoping for big things from him.
