Wenger on...the spirit in the side
"When there are 60 seconds to go and you are 2-1 down away from home, 99 per cent of the time you are out. But we gave it a real go and all credit to my team, they tried right to the last second. I am pleased because we had a very young side out by the end of the game and they showed great spirit. I feel at Newcastle, against Chelsea and tonight we have showed that great spirit. The team is back on track and the team is ready to do well again."
Wenger on...the play and the second equaliser
"We were a little bit unlucky to lose two strikers and we finished the game very, very young. Our domination was apparent but not very efficient. Still we showed a good Arsenal spirit right until the end and were rewarded unexpectedly because we scored on the counterattack and that was a surprise at that moment in time."
Wenger on...Manuel Almunia's heroics
"Our keeper kept us in the game, especially at the start of the second-half when he made crucial saves. He then made two good saves in the penalty shoot-out to show what a great goalkeeper he is."
Wenger on...Doncaster Rovers
"I was highly impressed with them. We were playing against a very good side and I am not surprised that they beat Aston Villa after what I saw tonight. Doncaster have some players who you think have a future in the Premier League. Their whole team didn't have a weakness and we found it really tough."
