- Arsenal's Jason Crowe was sent off just 33 seconds after coming on as a substitute for his debut against Birmingham City on October 14, 1997. It stands as the fastest debut sending-off in English football history.
- In the 2006/07 season Birmingham's promotion-winning squad included three Arsenal loanees. Nicklas Bendter, Fabrice Muamba and Sebastian Larsson all featured for the Championship side. Muamba and Larsson went on to sign permanent deals with the Blues.
- Former Arsenal star Anders Limpar made his last appearance on English soil for Birmingham City. The Swedish midfielder helped the Blues to a 2-1 win over Southend United on March 8, 1997.
