Before the 2006 Champions League Cup Final between Barcelona and Arsenal at the Stade de France, the city of Saint-Denis, the French Football Federation, and the partners of the final have organised sports entertainments and concerts in two villages dedicated to the supporters and the inhabitants.
Several thousands of fans will be welcome in theses villages, especially set up for the Final. For Barcelona it is in the Stadium Mandela, near the RER B station of the Stade de France. For Arsenal, the village is in the Esplanade de l'Ecluse, nearby the Metro station Porte de Paris on the line 13.
In these two villages you can enjoy mini-football matches, ball speed, giant "human" table football and much more.
From 5pm, the following two concerts will be held:
Ilene Barnes at the Arsenal village
Born in Detroit and raised Surinam, Barbados and Jamaica, this modern day Joan Armatrading mixes her own style of soul/folk. Her sensual and strong voice, passionate lyrics have made this singer/songwriter very popular on this side of the Atlantic, as she continues to develop her unique brand and claims many more followers.
Titi Robin at the Barça village
This self-taught musician from western France has been a big admirer and exponent of world music even before it became fashionable. Since his birth in the late 50s, he has been influenced by gipsy and oriental music and culture, as his acclaimed original blend of music shows.
Refreshment stands for food and soft drinks will also be provided by local sports clubs. The public will be welcome and informed by a team of 40 people of the city of Saint-Denis and of the communauté d'agglomération.
