A highly-respected goalkeeper during a long and well-travelled career, Mike made 482 appearances for a total of eight clubs between 1981 and 2002.
He made his name during a 10-year stint at Charlton Athletic before suffering a serious knee injury at the age of 33 and joining Ipswich, where he provided valuable backup for 'keepers such as ex-Gunner Richard Wright during the Suffolk club's successful period at the start of this decade.
His role at Arsenal involves coaching the Club's young goalkeepers throughout the various age groups - focussing particularly on the Under-18s, with whom he also works on matchdays.
Mike is constantly looking to help the Gunners develop goalkeepers with the potential and ability to take the mantle of the first team's number one jersey in years to come.Copyright 2013 The Arsenal Football Club plc.
