Stephen Bradley is hoping to continue his career with Dunfermline Athletic after being released by Arsenal during the summer.
The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international has been training with the Scottish Premier League side and has impressed the Pars' executive director, Jim Leishman.
"The lad has done well enough for us not to just say 'no'," said Leishman.
Bradley was a regular for Arsenal's reserves last season, making 24 appearances and scoring twice. Only John Spicer - now on loan at Bournemouth - made more appearances for the second string in 2003/04.
Bradley also featured 16 times for the Under-19s last season as they finished top of their Academy League division.
